Finally!

I don't know what took me so long, but I started this while on the road home and was finally able to finish it this morning.  It's been a crazy week around here!!!  I'm still trying to get my Challenge piece done this week, but it's not looking like it's going to happen until maybe Saturday.  I hate that!!!  I hope this week is being good to you and you're able to find joy in all that you're doing1

Travel day

I have to say that I'm a little disappointed.  When I got my new cell phone a couple of months back, I made sure it had my blogger app on it so I could blog while I was away from my computer.  Well, much to my dismay, I tried a couple of times to blog from my phone and even though it appeared to work fine on my phone, the blogs never appeared on here.  So sorry my friends!!!  This is my last travel picture for awhile.  I've got some catching up to do that's for sure!!!  Happy week to you all!

Wrapping things up!

This is my last challenge piece for this week.  I'm glad I've had the time to play around with it.  Sometimes (like all of you) I get so busy that the challenge is just getting the piece done, but when you have the chance to really study and work the challenge, it becomes a whole different piece.  Also as I finish this up, my travels will take me home tomorrow.  This has been a wonderful break but like with any trip, it's always nice to think about going home to the things you're comfortable with.  I wish there was some way to pull both of my favorite places together, but since that's impossible, I'll just enjoy each place when I'm there.  Happy day my friends!

Another Challenge 35

I've found some time this week and I'm enjoying this challenge!  It doesn't seem as lengthy or time consuming to me so I've been able to do a couple of them.  I'm still not sure I have the total concept down, but I'm winging it this week and just going for it.  I hope today is an awesome day for you!

Final Pendrill!

I have been trying to take my time on this piece but when you're attempting to match it up with something else, it's much harder than I thought it would be.  I'm pleased with the way this turned out (which the perfectionist in me wants to re-do the first one now), and my sister-in-law was equally pleased.  She plans to mat and frame this one and the first one (thank you Laura for the pendrill challenge that started this all) which is awesome!!  It's wonderful when the people you care about, enjoy what you do.  If you know someone who does something you admire - tell them!  It will truly make their day!!

Challenge 35 - Tile on tile

I like the idea of this challenge, but I wish I had a tile to work with instead of my journal.  You can't pack everything with you when you're on vacation - so I've realized!  I've always been a fan of "picture in a picture" and I guess that's why I like this one so much.  I need to work on some new patterns I think so that everything doesn't look the same.  Hope you can find something cool to change up your day!

Latest Pendrill

For some reason I'm having a hard time getting the second pendrill to match the first one I did.  I think I'm happy with the design of these but now for the color.  YIKES!  That's the part that I usually get heavy handed with.  I'll have to pay  closer attention to the first one since they are suppose to match.  I would be easier to have them printed then I could keep working on the color until I got it right, but since I'm matting originals that can't be done.  I'll let you know how it turns out!  This has been such a crazy couple of weeks with so much going on!!  I hope whatever it is you're doing that you're smiling alot and having a good time at it!

After wedding

The wedding was awesome and we're busy today enjoying family. I hope you're enjoying your day as well.

Happy Wedding Day!!

Today is the day!  My nephew is getting married!!!  After serving as a Marine and tours overseas, he's FINALLY getting married to his wonderful fiance who has stood by him during his absences.  Congrats to you both and it's going to be an awesome day!!!  I love you!!!

More Pendrils

I can't seem to stop drawing pendrills!!!  I seem to be stuck.  I have to color this one for my sister in law, but I have to be a little lighter on the pencils this time.  Hopefully I get it done tonight so I can post it for you soon.  I have a surprise for you tomorrow.  My nephew is getting married and I've been working on something for them.  You'll have to wait until tomorrow - he! he!  Happy evening my friends!

Challenge 34 - Opposites Attract 2

I managed to get two challenge pieces done this week.  I can't decide which I like better - the straight string with the curved lines (which kind of reminds me of an origami) or the curved string with the straight lines.  Either way, I enjoyed doing the Challenge pieces this week as they were very relaxing and I didn't feel rushed through them.  I hope you are enjoying a relaxing day yourself!

Challenge 34 - Opposites Attract

Yay for this weeks' Challenge!!!  I never thought about opposites attracting in tangles.  I don't know why because it makes perfect sense.  The thing that I found most challenging was remembering to put straight lines inside the curved string.  I guess I've never paid that much attention (to the shape of the patterns I choose) but I was glad to have the time to sit down and do the challenge piece.  Sometimes it seems like the challenge takes me all week to get to it, but it's nice to have it under my belt this week.  Hope you are enjoying your week!

Vacation Monday's are the best!

If Monday has to come (which it does whether we like it or not) the the best way to start the week is to be on VACATION!!!!  My plan was to tangle and post until my hearts content (which would be alot) but after the first two days it didn't turn out that way.  I still can't tell you what I've been doing, other than visiting with family and ......... visiting with family!  I was able to squeeze this in one evening and shaded it this morning.  I hope you are enjoying an awesome Monday!!!

By the way - we had our cupcake and cocktails last night and I won third place in presentation for my white chocolate cream cheese filled lemon cupcakes, and first place in taste for my peanut butter filled chocolate hot fudge cupcakes that I got from Jessica at How Sweet Eats.  We're still suffering from sugar overload even today!

Pendrills - another try

While on vacation, my sister-in-law, after seeing the first Pendrills, asked me to make another so she could hang.  Wow was I thrilled!!!  I got a little heavy handed with the colored pencils so I'll give it another try today.  Not sure I like the gel pen on this one either.  Oh well, that's what happens when you're using the real thing and not just photoshopping it.  I had thought about cheating with photoshop but she wants an original and not a print.  SO, back to the drawing board - literally.  Lucky for me this is a fun and pretty simple pattern.  We're off to a family reunion today so hope you have an awesome day with those you love!!

Growth

Sometimes things grow when you nurture them and other times they just pop up out of nowhere.  This tangle just popped up out of nowhere and things just kept growing on top of each other.  I guess it happens in real life too.  I hope there are some awesome things popping up in your life today!!

Through the looking glass

Sometimes life seems so planned out and normal but then you take a look from a different perspective and you realize that it's a little more chaotic than you think it is.  Everyone has a different take on your life because they're on the outside looking in, just like you see different things when you look on those around you.  Remember to take heed when you're looking into someone else's world because, just like your world, you're either on the inside looking out, or the outside looking in on someone else's.  Use your tact and take care of those you love. 

Challenge 33 - Pendrills

Hello everyone!!!  I was so excited that I was able to draw and post while traveling, only to find out that it didn't work!!  SO I was able to get some new stuff done and wanted to get this weeks' challenge posted.  I had fun trying something new and then adding the color was fun.  I almost felt like a real artist!!!  I hope you're enjoying your summer.  I have no complaints!!!  Happy days to you all! :)
