Cupcakes on the brain

I have cupcakes on the brain right now!  On my upcoming trip we've planned a Cupcakes & Cocktails party.  The guys are going to be judging the cupcakes and us girls are trying to come up with some new awesome cupcake recipes. I'm making two different kinds but I'm stummped on the second one.  The first one is a chocolate cupcake with peanut butter filling and frosting, drizzled with hot fudge.  They are melt in your mouth delicious!  The recipe is from Jessica at How Sweet Eats and if you have never read her blog you should check it out - she's awesome!  I want to make a lemon cream cheese filled cupcake but I'm struggling with the frosting.  If you have any ideas feel free to pass them along.  Anyway after I finished this I had to add color because cupcakes are never just plain!  Happy friday!!

What Happened to the Day??

Oh my GOSH!!!!  First let me say I'm so sorry for getting this up so late!!  I am currently in CA where the time is two hours behind my usual time, and then to add daylight-savings on top of that - I'm so late!!!  This day is going to be over before I get my breakfast eaten!!  I'm still trying to work on some new patterns and yesterday while shopping at the craft store (had to get another drawing book) I was on the lookout for tangle patterns.  You would not BELIEVE the array of patterns you will find if you just pay attention!  They were on planters, on paper, on the floor, on upholstery, cushion covers, on the ceiling, in jewelry, so when I say everywhere I really mean everywhere!!  I'm hoping to get something new to you tomorrow (of  course I had to work on them last night) but sometimes when you're away from home things don't go as planned.  I hope you enjoy your short day today (red faced it looks like mine will be shorter than most of yours).  Spring must be right around the corner now - right????

Garden of Hearts

I had a great lunch out with my mom today.  I thought I would do some shopping while I was out, but then decided I would rather go home and DRAW!!!  I worked on this one this afternoon.  I have to admit I got very comfortable sitting in my chair while the sun shown through and I dozed off for a little nap.  When I woke up Mr. Thisandthat was home and I finished it up.  He's a great encourager for me and I love having him around when I'm drawing.  I will have to say he is my biggest fan and comes up with all sorts of new creative ideas to help me.  Way to go dude and thanks!!
