Challenge 52 - Give

I guess this is the final Challenge for this year.  It's probably good since Laura has so much going on with her kiddo's and if you're anything like me, there's not been enough hours in the days lately so I'm sure I won't have to worry how to fill the time I have been working on the Challenges.  I am looking forward to another year of them come 2012.  Wow - 2012!!!  Weren't we supposed to be eating space food sticks and freeze-dried food by now?  Oh well, just glad we aren't!!!  This Challenge was to give - make something to give a piece of yourself away.  I made this for my step-son as we haven't seen him in a long time.  We've both lived away and are finally moving back a little closer together.  He has a wonderful family (a super nice wife and three adorable kids) so it was great to catch up.  Have an awesome week and be sure to make time for those who mean the most to you!

Upside Down

Upside down is how I feel most of the time these days.  It seems like life goes along fairly consistent and pretty well planned out (a plus for an organizer like myself) for a long time and then BAM it changes.  And it's not just one thing (which would have been so much easier) - it's a lot of different things!  Trying to stay on top of the things that are crumbling around you is exhausting!  I have to say that even though my life really is upside down right now, I'm blessed to have an awesome husband (even though circumstances have him miles away), fabulous kids (present and future daughter in laws too of course), a granddaughter who's smile and playful personality could be the cure for world peace, and friends always willing to step in.  My blogging and flickr friends are so inspiring and keep me sane (if that's possible).  I just wanted to say thank you to all of my readers, regardless of how we know each other!  Hugs to you all!!

Happy Wedding Day!!

Today is the day!  My nephew is getting married!!!  After serving as a Marine and tours overseas, he's FINALLY getting married to his wonderful fiance who has stood by him during his absences.  Congrats to you both and it's going to be an awesome day!!!  I love you!!!

Vacation Monday's are the best!

If Monday has to come (which it does whether we like it or not) the the best way to start the week is to be on VACATION!!!!  My plan was to tangle and post until my hearts content (which would be alot) but after the first two days it didn't turn out that way.  I still can't tell you what I've been doing, other than visiting with family and ......... visiting with family!  I was able to squeeze this in one evening and shaded it this morning.  I hope you are enjoying an awesome Monday!!!

By the way - we had our cupcake and cocktails last night and I won third place in presentation for my white chocolate cream cheese filled lemon cupcakes, and first place in taste for my peanut butter filled chocolate hot fudge cupcakes that I got from Jessica at How Sweet Eats.  We're still suffering from sugar overload even today!
